Thoughts on a Society of Crisis

by Doug Eiderzen

I would like to site reference to the article Our Deepest Sympathy: Posted by: John Young on: 12/14/2012. It is, truly, within the deepest depravity that anyone would harm a child. There is nothing as precious as a child and his or her trusting innocence. And this complete catastrophe is heartbreakingly sad.

I would like to concentrate on some issues and note other characteristics that will come from this tragedy (Newtown, Connecticut School Catastrophe). And, it is within this total scope to which the following issues and subjects will be addressed. Also, before writing it was a desire to let some amount of time pass as to the emotions within the event:

Item A: The anti-gun pundits have already begun to crawl from their dens: There will be the cry for more gun control; the admonishment and rebuke toward the government for not doing more toward gun control; the demonizing of the NRA (National Rifle Association); the Hollywood group and celebrities berating all gun rights organizations and owners of firearms; the evils related to weapons and all types of ammunition; so on and on and on all will proceed.

Item B: There will be the cry that something is terribly wrong with our society; and, with regard to this statement I, as a European American, will totally agree.

Item C: The statement will be made that these pistols with high capacity magazines and assault type weapons with high capacity magazines are the real culprits and if such were eliminated all would be right and well.

Let us move back in time for an answer to debunk and discredit the above statement. The Belgian produced Browning Hi-Power pistol was put into production and available in 1935. The pistol had a high capacity magazine of 13 rounds. From 1945 (the end of WWII) well into the 1960s, the 9mm Browning Hi-Power pistol, with a magazine capacity of 13 rounds (not counting the round in the chamber), was prevalent, common, and quite available on the open market.

With this high capacity magazine Browning Hi-Power pistol available, no such tragedies took place. So, what was the “different factor” within our society of then compared to now; what was different in the American society of 1945 to roughly 1965? Why are these horrendous tragedies experienced now and not back then?

Again, let us move back in time. From 1945 (the end of WWII) well into the 1960s, the 30 caliber M1 Carbine, with a magazine capacity of 30 rounds (not counting the round in the chamber), was prevalent, common, and quite available on the open market. There was a magazine attachment apparatus that affixed one 30 round magazine to another 30 round magazine. So, concerning the M1 Carbine, when the inserted magazine was empty, in a matter of seconds, the user could eject the spent magazine and insert the other full attached magazine; the user would have access to at least 60 rounds of ammunition. With the common availability of the M1 Carbine, no such tragedies took place. The assault type weaponry was certainly available. So, what was a “different factor” of our society then compared to the society of now; what was different in the American society of 1945 to roughly 1965? Why are these type tragedies experienced now and were not experienced back then?

Truly, something IS wrong with a society that produces these type tragedies, however, it is NOT weapons; this is evident.

Item D: Within the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution (the Bill of Rights), let us look at and compare wording in the 1st Amendment and the 2nd Amendment:

Amendment 1
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Amendment 2
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Within the above amendments, the key words (main phrase) given to us by our European American/European Founding Fathers happen to be, “the right of the people”. As long as it exists (the 2nd Amendment), the citizen has the right to keep and bear arms. Our Founding Fathers felt the 2nd Amendment to be extremely important: Placed number two of the ten amendments. Now, whatever the Senate, the House, the Executive Branch, or the Supreme Court may state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms IS absolute. People may play upon wording and structure of sentences or sentence fragments, as long as they desire, but the right of the American citizen to keep and bear arms is quite absolute.

Item E: A person should always be a bit apprehensive and fearful when the powers that be start babbling about the use of medications as to the restriction of firearms. Most people take medications of one form or another and at certain times (antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, sinus allergy medications, blood pressure medications, etc.). Medications do take in a broad spectrum and with the coming advent of ObamaCare will the government have access to individual medical records? I would take a guess and say, yes. Now, who will determine what medications are acceptable and not acceptable for the ownership of firearms: University of California at Berkeley and Ivy League psychologists and psychiatrists employed by the government?

Item F: There is just something not right in the tragedy that occurred and other such tragic events (the Aurora, Colorado shooting). Answers seem to elude us. Pete Williams and Kari Huus, NBC News of NBCNEWS.com state the weapons were bought and owned by Mrs. Nancy Lanza. Let us examine the weapons used. The 9mm Sig-Sauer can range in price from roughly $500.00 to several thousand dollars depending on the model. The 9mm Glock can range in price from roughly $500.00 to $2,000 and more, again, depending on the model and accessories. The AR-15 type rifle (Bushmaster) may range in price from roughly $700 to several thousand dollars depending on the type and model. There may be the cost of any accessories. Also, let us not forget the cost of ammunition. This is a good deal of money to come up with. However, Mrs. Lanza may have had the funds available. A good question to answer would be when were the weapons purchased by the mother? My argument is that to have the above mixture of weapons legally purchased and available shows that this lady was not only savvy concerning firearms but may have been a bit wary of something. Another thought, these tragedies seem to be occurring over and over again with the assault rifle, many times, present.

About these shootings, several of the shooters appear to be judged relatively intelligent and come from home environments that have access to money. Photos released show the accused individual, in non-medical terms, to look nuts. Each facial picture gives the impression that the person has just returned from a therapy session with the galvanic battery used in several Edgar Alan Poe stories. From basic research, and in its most simple terms, mind control blocks reality until the deed is done. One might only guess if James Eagan Holmes of the Aurora, Colorado shooting were to be interviewed by independent counselors every answer given would encompass the words “most caring, generous, kindest, and most understanding” (reference: the Manchurian Candidate).

Item G: One senator mentioned that the assault weapon is really only for the military and other type organizations and not for commercial sales (Lieberman, Democrats want ban on assault weapons, by Anne Flaherty, Associated Press, Dec.16, 2012). This statement should send chills through the European American/European person. To believe in this type statement one must absolutely, completely, totally, and unequivocally trust the military and the police and the entities that control them (case in point: I believe Mexico has a total firearms ban for its citizens with only the military and the police and, of course, the criminals having access to firearms [the unarmed Mexican citizen may be at the mercy of these mentioned entities]). Such an argument, for outlawing assault weapons by the senator, is not too reassuring.

A sad but necessary question would be just who would derive the greatest benefit from the Newtown, Connecticut School tragedy? Why would anyone desire to injure or take the life of a child?

Within a total perspective, the system does a great job in shifting and adjusting the blame for the makeup of its failures. We are dealing with a society generated, created, developed, and engineered by the government. Those that govern react actively to crisis (they play upon emotions). We have been given the society we now exist within.

As the years have come and gone the European American/European person moves to have less and less and less in common with the government. And, it is obvious that the fast and furious people do not care for the European American/European individual or the European American/European Founding Fathers. Truly, what does the European American/European person have in common with Mr. Obama, Senator Lieberman, Mr. Eric Holder, New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg, California Senator Dianne Feinstein, New York Senator Schumer, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, Bill and Hillary Clinton and many, many more of the individuals that now control the government? A government entity that in the words of Rahm Emanuel, at one time Mr. Obama’s White House Chief of Staff, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste,” (www.youtube.com). In other words, push and pass legislation when people are reacting to and living within an emotional state of mind. “The massacre has prompted several congressional gun rights supporters to consider new legislation to control firearms, and there is some concern that their willingness to engage could fade as the shock and sorrow over the new town shooting eases,” (http://news.yahoo.com/obama-set-january-deadline-gun-proposals, by Julie Pace, 12/19/2012). Well, I guess the government certainly has a serious crisis and it looks as though they will not let it go to waste as they push for more firearms control (infringe upon the 2nd Amendment). This particular crisis is about as critical as it gets.

The above mentioned individuals and others, including persons of previous administrations, are now the ones that govern this empire and we are the governed. Does one really think this is the government system that the European American/European Founding Fathers had in mind when they crafted and created this nation? We are dealing with an extremely intrusive, invasive, and meddling government; a government entity that is in solid with all of the major media so the right “spin” is placed upon any happening. A government that actively works against the 2nd Amendment has been in place for many years. With such a ruling entity, one may expect anything.

Placing Vice President Joe Biden in charge of gun control proposals, in this present day and age, may be compared to placing Madalyn Murray O’Hair in charge of a summer Vacation Bible School program in the early 1960s. Mr. Biden has always been very, very positive toward gun control. However, should Mr. Biden’s committee come up with the idea of placing armed tactical teams within schools, it might be suggested that to save on the cost of bullets, such a team should borrow ammunition from the Social Security Administration (Social Security Administration on Ammo Buy: 589 Bullets Per Agent is Normal, by Penny Starr, cnsnews.com, August 17, 2012). If necessary, the Social Security Administration might share some of the 174,000 rounds of .357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow point pistol ammunition.

Again, the question is asked, who would want to harm a child and who would benefit most from this tragic event? The events of the day, certainly, reinforce the idea of home schooling.
