Texas Girl Exaggerated Attack Tale: Claim

Teen to be charged with making false report

The 13 year old girl who claimed that she was beaten and threatened with rape apparently exaggerated the story after teachers downplayed her initial complaint about being racially intimidated because of a sign calling for an end to illegal immigration.

According to reports, Melanie Bowers was confronted by at least three pupils, who took her sign, which was part of a school project. She complained to a teacher about the incident and was then sent back to her class.

After making allegations to her parents that she had been physically assaulted, officials reviewed surveillance tape which showed Melanie scratching herself and behaving calmly. When confronted with the evidence, she reportedly confessed to the http://www.wvwnews.net/story.php?id=3252. She is now being charged with making a false police report. It appears that while Melanie was indeed intimidated and robbed on racial grounds, she was not physically attacked, at least not to the extent she claimed.

Hate crime hoaxes are extremely http://www.wvwnews.net/story.php?id=3596, but overwhelmingly are perpetrated by protected classes of people, usually blaming whites. In this case, it appears that Melanie Bowers was frustrated by the climate of intimidation she experienced from nonwhites, something white children experience on a daily basis.  It also should be kept in mind that society as a whole is so unstable that people like Melanie see how easily such claims get results. On top of it, the needs of whites come second to those of others, and Melanie clearly carried out her foolish act when her real plight was minimized.

Also, Melanie is being overcharged in an attempt to downplay the serious theft and racial intimidation she suffered and to send a message to European Americans who responded to the story with outrage.
