After a swing through Southern California, including a stop at King Taco in East Los Angeles, Hillary Clinton is back in Las Vegas today to kick off her “Juntos Con Hillary, Una Vida Mejor” tour of Nevada. The phrase translates to “Together with Hillary, a better life,” and the tour itself marks yet another attempt to solidify her support among Latino voters in the West.

Clinton kicked things off at the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 88 training center, where she was introduced by Hispanic luminaries such as Sen Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and former HUD secretary (and ex-Bill Richardson supporter) Henry Cisneros — both of whom addressed the packed room in both English and Spanish.

She talked about Richardson in glowing terms in her first public comments since the Latino governor dropped out of the presidential race, saying “Bill Richardson has been a friend of mine for a long time. He is a distinguished, accomplished American public servant.””He broke through a barrier by running for president and by being such a tremendous candidate raising important issues for our country,” she said. “I salute his service and thank him for his many kindnesses to me.”

And she stressed the work she’s done on behalf of Hispanics. “I have worked with each of my friends…to try to provide better health care for women, particularly Latina women.”
