More Hollywood hypocrisy…
Actor Robert De Niro told a provocative joke Monday night that bombed worse than “Rocky and Bullwinkle.” While speaking at a New York City fundraiser attended by Michelle Obama, De Niro quipped that America isn’t “ready for a white First Lady.” De Niro asked, “Callista Gingrich. Karen Santorum. Ann Romney. Now, do you really think our country is ready for a white first lady?” When someone in the audience yelled, “No,” De Niro continued, “Too soon, right?” In a statement, the First Lady’s spokeswoman said, “We believe the joke was inappropriate.” Newt Gingrich blasted the actor’s racially tinged remark and demanded that De Niro apologize.
