RE: City, State Governments

Myself and some city employees of the city of (deleted — Ed.), Texas were reflecting when things got out of hand.

We think it was when everything had to be computerized.  We had perfectly good working manual systems with paper records and perhaps one computer that recorded all traffic tickets coming in.

The computers, among other needless projects, made the costs of running the city skyrocket.

Software replaced perfectly good manual systems and archives; police “had to have” computers in their patrol cars to check on suspects, respond to calls and the like.

Light rail also was a ludicrous expenditure.  A trolley used to go down Main Street many years ago.  It was abandoned.  Why bring it back when it didn’t work when fewer people had cars? We tore up railroad tracks, tore down railroad stations and then, wanted rail again.

It was almost as if the job was to create busywork for everybody.  None of it was needed.

Because of the useless projects and bad judgment white flight ensued.
