ADL: Blind Hypocrisy

Hypocrisy: prejudice with a halo

by James Edwards

It’s no secret that the ADL and SPLC hate me and the work that we do on-air. This talk radio program has been attacked more over the course of the past five years by these two groups than any other paleoconservative entity in the world.

Why do they hate us? It’s simple. We’re white, Christian, conservative heterosexuals who are proud of our Southern heritage. That, to them, is pure evil.

Why do they attack us so often? Because we don’t apologize for anything in the list above and we’ve been fairly successful in articulating our traditional viewpoints on certain “taboo” political issues.

Furthermore, a great deal of our show is dedicated to exposing the egregious double-standards and hypocrisies that reign inside the halls of leftist attack organizations. You know, how it’s perfectly natural and healthy for Blacks, Hispanics, homosexuals, and Jewish individuals to belong to organizations that seek to promote their interests, but it’s RACIST HATE for groups that seek to preserve and protect Western Civilization to even exist. Stuff like that.

And while we usually choose to mock such childish behavior and name calling, sometimes their hypocrisy knows no bounds whatsoever and leaves me absolutely stunned. Despite having been witness to their disconnects for years, I had to pick my jaw up from the floor when I read the following press release issued yesterday by the ADL:

New York, NY, May 27, 2010 … Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich today assured the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) that he recognizes “the horror and evil of the Nazi regime” and did not intend a comparison between Nazis and Democratic leaders in his new book to be a statement of moral equivalence.

“We welcome Newt Gingrich’s efforts to clarify his remarks both in the book and on his book tour,” said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. “As we have said many times before, Holocaust or Nazi comparisons are inappropriate and have no place in American political discourse.”

Yeah, I’m still scratching my head over that one! Are they even serious?! The ADL absolutely makes a living by comparing conservative White activists to Nazis! Heck, they outright say we are Nazis! Which, for the record, is hogwash.

For example, in denouncing one of Pat Buchanan’s appearances on my show the ADL wrote:

On June 29, Buchanan appeared on “Political Cesspool,” a Tennessee-based AM radio show run by white supremacist James Edwards, to promote his book, Churchill, Hitler, and the Unnecessary War: How Britain Lost Its Empire and the West Lost the World.

“While parading himself as a moderate, to sell his book Pat Buchanan has stooped into the cesspool of extremism,” said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director.

Edwards regularly invites anti-Semites, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, Holocaust deniers and conspiracy theorists to voice their views on his show. It was Buchanan’s second appearance on the program, which is also available via the Internet.

Or how about this ADL article in which they do nothing other than call people Nazis:

James Edwards, the Political Cesspool’s main host, co-founded the show in October 2004 and has interviewed a variety of anti-Semites, white supremacists, Holocaust deniers, conspiracy theorists and anti-immigrant leaders. A list of former guests includes veteran anti-Semite and Holocaust denier Willis Carto; Prussian Blue, a neo-Nazi singing duo; anti-Semite Ted Pike; Mark Weber, the director of the Institute for Historical Review; and Frank Roman, a founding member of the neo-Nazi European Americans United group.

There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of other examples out there of the ADL and similar organizations denouncing conservative activists as “Nazis.” I guess you just have to laugh to keep from crying. The ADL says it’s “inappropriate” for people like Newt Gingrich to compare people to Nazis, but it’s perfectly ok for the them to label others as such. Pretty amazing, huh?
