It’s really shocking to discover government employees not doing their jobs.But sometimes their jobs are so destructive to freedom; maybe it would be a good idea to buy them a subscription to some porn just to keep their attention away from oppressing the citizenry. Of course, it would be even better to just lay them off. But we all know government has never shrunk in terms of total employees in recent decades.Well, it seems that employees at the SEC have been caught surfing porn while the banks were collapsing. But these aren’t just small-time clerks. More than half of the staffers caught earn between $99k and $223k annually.The Inspector General’s report on the matter stated, in part: “During the past five years, the SEC OIG (Office of Inspector General) substantiated that 33 SEC employees and or contractors violated Commission rules and policies, as well as the government-wide Standards of Ethical Conduct, by viewing pornographic, sexually explicit or sexually suggestive images using government computer resources and official time.”If you are visiting the office of a government employee earning a six-figure salary; I would advise not touching their mouse.
