Letter From The University of Miami President To The Student Body

UM President Donna Shalala released a statement condemning an act of vandalism. Below, one of our readers responds. — Ed.

“To the University Community:

On Tuesday someone drew a swastika on a wall in the men’s restroom near the Miller Center for Contemporary Judaic Studies in the Merrick Building. This incident and a similar one that occurred last November in the same location have been reported to University Police and are under investigation. Defacement of University property is a crime—and to do so with this symbol of hatred, which is offensive to all of us, is a despicable and cowardly act. The University of Miami is a place where all are welcome in a spirit of learning and acceptance. There is no place in our community for bigotry and intolerance. I condemn these acts in the strongest of terms on behalf of the University.

Anyone with information concerning this crime should immediately contact the University of Miami Police Department at 284-6666.”
Response:

“While the doodling of swastikas on University property can be denounced as mere hooliganism, such actions harm the efforts of pro-white individuals and organizations everywhere. It’s hard enough to avoid the characterizations of pro-white action as “fascist”, “racist”, et cetera without simple-minded fools solidifying that comparison in the minds of others. The last sentence in the letter is especially ludicrous; with the amount of actual crime (theft, assault, murder) in the area of the University campus (and, at times, on the campus itself), one would think the University police would have better things to do than track down a person who doodles swastikas on walls.

That being said, the University of Miami President (who is very much politically leftist and purportedly a lesbian) has never sent out a personal message to the student body about so-called hate crimes before. With the Obama administration (which the University President unquestionably supports) under fire from all angles, this message seems to be more than just coincidence.

It’s likely that the University President is trying to spark fear about “right-wing extremism” in order to derail legitimate pro-white activism or even legitimate protest against Obama and his administration. Considering the “Tunnel of Oppression” propaganda exhibit that occasionally comes to the University of Miami, such action by the University President is absolutely not out of the question.”
