A 79-year-old woman testified yesterday that a man pistol-whipped heroutside her Potomac home, dragged her to her basement, taped her mouthshut and left her tied to a pole with a sheet over her head until herdaughter found her 2 1/2 days later.

“I really despaired . . . that nobody was ever going to find me,” AnnWolfe said in a courtroom in Rockville, recalling how she wiggledaround on her back, trying to prop herself on boxes, and chewed througha duct-tape gag, damaging two molars so badly she later neededextensive dental work.

Wolfe, a widow who lived alone, testified in the trial of JoseGarcia-Perlera, who is accused of breaking into four homes in affluentareas of Montgomery County and tying up the residents. One of thevictims was killed.

Wolfe’s testimony came a day after two other widows who lived alone– one 78 and the other 94 — mesmerized the courtroom with memories ofbeing attacked, bound and gagged inside their homes in 2007.Garcia-Perlera, 34, is charged with murder, burglary, robbery and falseimprisonment.
