The Police State has struck again. A worker at http://www.wvwnews.net/story.php?id=6139’s John Lennon Airport has been suspended for “racism” after setting up a Facebook website asking why some of his co-workers did not speak English.

Merseyside police have confirmed that a “hate crime unit” is probing the comments posted on the social networking site.

The website group is specifically aimed at people working for airport caterers SSP. It is called “Why does no-one at SSP LJLA (Liverpool http://www.wvwnews.net/story.php?id=5987 Airport) speak English?”

The group is believed to have operated for six months before authorities were informed.

One airport worker, who asked not to be named, said several members of staff joined the group but had since left. “Most staff were warned to remove themselves from Facebook altogether. Some people were told at work and others were telephoned at home.”

Security firm G4S have confirmed that a woman was suspended after an internal investigation.

Up to 60 people are thought to have joined the group, which asked why some airport workers did not speak English. The group now has only 19 members, but a new private group — where members must apply to join and their identities are kept secret — has formed under the same name.Liverpool John Lennon Airport director Andy Gower said: “The airport company was made aware of these inflammatory and derogatory comments on a website, relating to staff who work at the airport, earlier this week and took immediate action.”
