World Government’s Dream President

“He is the first truly global U.S. President the world ever had.  He had an Asian childhood, African parentage, and has a Middle Eastern name.” That statement from a 29 year old Thai man became commonplace throughout the world the day after Barack Obama’s election as President of the United States.

Well known world figures issued similar statements of approval. Nelson Mandela stated in his congratulatory letter to Obama, “Your victory has demonstrated that no person anywhere in the world should not dare to dream of wanting to change the world for a better place.”

France’s black junior minister for human rights, Rama Yade, elevated Obama’s victory over one of the most celebratory moments of the previous century. “This is the fall of the Berlin Wall times ten. America is rebecoming a new world.”

All three individuals unintentionally displayed an anti-white sentiment which is prominent throughout the world. Their joy is evident as a non-white has been elected President of a Western nation. How would they feel if the roles were reversed? Would the Thai man express joy over a German being elected President of Thailand? Did Nelson Mandela encourage the continuation of minority white rule over the majority black population of South Africa? What is Minister Yade’s analysis of Ian Smith’s time leading the government of Rhodesia? Regardless, they applaud Obama’s ascension to the Presidency. A reversal of roles, however, and they would be singing a different tune. While the media showed happy “citizens of the world” cheering Obama’s election, the powerful few expressed approval in all they have accomplished: a decline in the nation state and rise of world government. His election was a major step toward their ultimate goal.

The process is already underway which destroys national sovereignty while developing international governments. The creation and prospective expansion of the European Union provides such an example. Here in America, the methodical destruction of sovereignty has been occurring for several years. To those privately touting the creation of world government, necessary steps must take place before their ultimate goal can be accomplished.

As Americans celebrated New Year’s Day in 1994, a major step toward the existence of a North American Union came into effect. The North American Free Trade Agreement removed most existing tariffs between the United States, Canada, and Mexico while starting a process whereby all other taxes on imports would be phased out over the next 15 years.  It must not be missed that the changes occurred over the course of 15 years. Change is less noticeable when it occurs over a longer period of time.

Less than four weeks earlier, President Clinton signed the agreement. Former Presidents Ford, Carter, and Bush attended the ceremony in a show of support, which unintentionally provided further evidence of the systematic erosion of American sovereignty led in part by the upper echelons of American government.

While introducing Clinton, Vice President Al Gore said, “There are some issues that transcend ideology. That is, the view is so uniform that it unites people in both parties. This means our country can pursue a bipartisan policy with continuity over the decades. That’s how we won the Cold War. That’s how we have promoted peace and reconciliation in the Middle East. And that’s how the United States of America has promoted freer trade and bigger markets for our products and those of other nations throughout the world. NAFTA is such an issue.”

The statement was notable not because the speech was performed so eloquently nor passage of the law so noble but because it provides concrete evidence that neither major party plans to defend American sovereignty.  By their own admission, the Council on Foreign Relations has been pursuing their goal of forming a “One-World Government.”
Just two years prior to the signing of NAFTA, CFR member and Deputy Secretary of State from 1994-2001 Strobe Talbott made the following credible threat against American sovereignty: “In the next century, nations as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority. National sovereignty wasn’t such a great idea after all.”  The idea is foreign to most private citizens, though it is an ordinary view among members of both the Council and government.

The actual erosion of American autonomy by the executive branch has been underway for generations.  Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, and George W. Bush are the only non-CFR members to receive the Presidential nomination of either major party since Harry Truman occupied the White House. While Bush is not a member, the CFR is represented in the majority of his original and current staff.  Among the most notable are Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Paul Wolfowitz, Colin Powell, and Donald Rumsfeld.

It is in the most influential cabinet positions where CFR members are most often found.  There have been 14 Secretaries of State and Treasury and 11 at the Pentagon.  Additionally, men who have led in the most notable recent major war efforts have been members, including Colin Powell, Wesley Clark, and David Petraeus.  We should expect to see similar CFR representation in an Obama White House.

While Obama is known as the anti-war candidate to the masses, he has promised foreign intervention to the few.  Foreign Affairs Magazine, a publication of The Council on Foreign Relations, published a piece titled “Common Security for Our Common Humanity” written by none other than the President-Elect himself.  In it, he argues that America and the world must work together to face the challenges with which we are currently overwhelmed.

He concludes by saying, “This is our moment to renew the trust and faith of our people — and all people — in an America that battles immediate evils, promotes an ultimate good, and leads the world once more.”  The article argues many of the same points that CFR President Richard Haas and lifetime member Henry Kissinger have been making for years: The world’s problems are America’s and can not be solved without all governments working together.   If distinct nations and individual sovereignty are destroyed in the process the world is better for it.

Contemporary history has taught us too much to be fooled into accepting that world government can be in the best interest of any distinct nation.  Diversity within single nations and various governments have been proven failures.  What makes us think that combining all the people, cultures, and regions of the world into one government will work for anyone?  All will be asked to sacrifice their sovereignty only to be granted a small portion of influence within a world body controlled by an organization with a history of destroying cultures.

The CFR has been waiting for a candidate who looks like a “citizen of the world” as described by the Thai man in the coffee shop.  Not only has he earned and accepted membership into the Council, but Obama’s physical appearance resembles a model “world citizen.”   It looks like they have finally found their man.

John Tait never plans on becoming a citizen of the world.  He recently published his first book, http://www.wvwnews.net/story.php?id=5528.
