Grassroots America Rises Up and Defends Liberty

To all of our EAU members and supporters who participated in the defeat of the Wall Street bailout, we deeply thank you. Stay alert, however. The enemy never sleeps. They WILL try again. — BoD, EAU

Yesterday was a historic loss for those that seek to abuse the American taxpayer and make him pay for the mistakes of someone else. When everyone said it couldn’t be done, and that if it wasn’t done the world would collapse around us, the American people rose up and defeated the $700 billion Wall Street bailout — at least for now.

In the tradition of Sam Adams and the Sons of Liberty, people like you took action to repel the forces of big government and the elites who made the bad decisions that got us into this mess in the first place. It was not the free market, but a government-distorted market that caused this. It was politicians, fat cat corrupt CEO’s and special interest lobbyists for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and other firms that created the perfect storm that led to the housing market collapse.

After more than a week of pounding Congress with phone calls, faxes, letters, emails and protests – we were able to persuade 228 House Members to oppose the largest government intervention in American history. Congratulations!

But, the work is not done yet. We expect another vote in the House and Senate the next day or two. We know that Nancy Pelosi, Hank Paulson and friends will be twisting arms and cutting deals, trying to buy votes for this monstrosity of a bill. We simply cannot let them win!

You may be asking, “What can I do to help?” Well, I have an answer for you: spend a few minutes today and tomorrow calling the following 5 representatives that need to be flipped from “yes” to “no” on this bailout bill. These are all legislators who traditionally profess a belief in limited government, but for some reason they have decided to cast their lot with a huge government intervention in the free market.

Help us find out why this is, and ask them to change their vote from “yes” to “no” on the bailout. If enough of us speak with one voice, we can protect this victory by adding to the chorus against the Wall Street Bailout.

Below are the names of our carefully selected target list. Call the capitol switchboard at 1-866-928-3035 and ask to be connected to one of the following legislators:

Rep. Kay Granger
Rep. Adam Putnam
Rep. John Campbell
Rep. Greg Walden
Rep. Joe Wilson
Rep. Pete Sessions

We don’t have much time to convince these folks to do the right thing on the next vote, so please act right now!

Finally, please be sure that you have signed our petition against the bailout, and be sure to forward this email to 5 friends! If everyone does this, we will reach hundreds of thousands more Americans with our message, and increase the pressure on Congress to stop the nationalization of bad mortgage debt – leaving taxpayers on the hook for $700 billion.

Together we can make history again by rising up to defend everything this country was founded upon: limited government, individual responsibility and free enterprise.

Yours in freedom,
