Communists wiped out, nationalists double their votes in historic Italian election

For the first time in decades the far left will have zero seats in the Italian parliament, with voters giving conservative http://www.wvwnews.net/story.php?id=4146 his third term as Prime Minister. The national elections also made nationalist politics “mainstream,” with the Lega Nord (Northern League) doubling their vote tallies after running a strong campaign against Third World immigration. Nationalists will help Berlusconi form a ruling government coalition and will have cabinet level appointments.

The simultaneous electoral destruction of the “Rainbow” coalition of far left groups is of historic importance. For the first time since 1945 the Italian parliament will have no Communist members, part of a crisis of relevance that has dogged the far left all across Europe, whose working class constituency is hard pressed by Third World immigration, which the leftists openly embrace. The ideological vacuum on the left is shown by the composition of “Rainbow”: a gaggle of Marxists, Greens, “gay rights” activists and similar groups, all bound by a commitment to political correctness. The Northern League was the first white group in Italy to break from the ideology and symbolism of the past, reformulating a vision that is modern, relevant and electable.  The League is part of a wave of similar movements that are sweeping Europe.
