It’s now illegal for law enforcement officers in California to sell information to the tabloids.
Assemblywoman Julia Brownley, D-Santa Monica, says she wrote the legislation after a series of high-profile leaks, including one that revealed actor Mel Gibson’s anti-Semitic ravings during a traffic stop.
