Kosovars Plan to Erect Statue of ‘Savior’

Muslims to honor man who bombed Serb civilians

Ethnic Albanians in Kosovo are planning to erect a 10-foot-tall statue of ex-US President William Jefferson Clinton in downtown Pristina, capital of the Serb province seized by NATO in 1999 after an aerial campaign that finished off the remains of Yugoslavia. The campaign found NATO allied with the Muslim Kosovo Liberation Army, a drug and prostitution gang formerly on the US State Department’s “terrorist” list. The KLA has since found itself legitimized, making up much of the Kosovar police force while maintaining a policy of ethnic intimidation against the few remaining Serbs. The United States is pressing for formal independence for the province, part of the “Greater Albania” project long pursued by neoconservatives and their allies.

“He is our savior. He saved us from extermination. I was thrilled by the work because I know what he did for us,” news agency Reuters quoted sculptor Izeir Mustafa as saying. One of the main streets in Pristina is already named Bill Clinton Boulevard, complete with a massive mural of the former “leader of the free world.” Such displays have long been common political currency in Europe, seeking to rub the faces of the conquered in their own defeat, while establishing the “permanent” supremacy of the conquerors. A similar monument in Estonia, put up by Stalin to celebrate the Soviet Union’s annexation of the Baltic nation, has sparked continuing unrest between Estonians and ethnic Russians, while Poland has recently called for the closure of Red Army monuments.

The Clinton statue planned for Pristina is also reminiscent of the leader-worship that has been part of the historical legacy of ex-communist nations. Socialist Yugoslavia had statues of Tito in every major locale, while communist Albania officially “worshipped” Enver Hoxha. Wild claims for such “heroes” are not unusual. Just as Clinton is praised as a “savior,” so too Stalin and Mao were hailed as major philosophers. Elena Ceausescu, wife of Romania’s red helmsman, was supposed to be a scientific genius, while the ruling family of North Korea is renowned as semi-divine.

The 1999 Kosovo campaign led to a massive ethnic cleansing of Serbs, while the current push to separate Kosovo has led to Serbs setting up defense units and taking other measures to protect themselves from the Muslim Albanians. Serbia considers Kosovo to be an historical heartland, but thanks to Marxist Yugoslav mismanagement, as well as very low Serbian population replacement rates, in-migration of ethnic Albanians, and high Albanian birth rates, made Serbs a minority long before 1999.

Ethnic Albanians, while racially Europeans, are mainly Muslims with a strong clan-based social system and large population that is cross-regional, leading to unrest in Greece, Macedonia, Italy and other places. While continuing an anti-Muslim policy in the Middle East, the United States has been strongly in favor of Islamic power in Europe, helping to establish Muslim Bosnia as well as Kosovo. Part of the reason for this is the desire to isolate Russia, which has historical links to the Serbs.

California’s Congressman Tom Lantos, a Zionist neocon, spoke for the US government when he bragged: “just a reminder to the predominantly Muslim-led governments in this world that here is yet another example that the United States leads the way for the creation of a predominantly Muslim country in the very heart of Europe. This should be noted by both responsible leaders of Islamic governments, such as Indonesia, and also for jihadists of all color and hue. The United States’ principles are universal, and in this instance, the United States stands foursquare for the creation of an overwhelmingly Muslim country in the very heart of Europe.”

Oddly enough, considering the “war on terror” being waged by the United States, Washington still pursues the pro-Islamist policy in Europe, despite ongoing evidence that the Balkans are a hotbed of jihadist organizing. A highly-touted “sting” operation only recently alleged that four ethnic Albanians were part of a terror plot to attack Fort Dix in New Jersey. While that case has many questions surrounding it, the Bosniaks especially have been forced to clamp down on foreign mujahideen who came there to fight the Serbs in the 1990s. The Bosniaks are comparatively secular and modern and are only nominally Muslim, though Saudi and other Muslim “evangelization” efforts have attempted to “convert” them to militant Islam. Many Muslim Yugoslavs fought alongside the Serbs hoping to preserve the dream of a multiethnic Yugoslav Federation.
