District of Corruption (DC) Votes For A Tax Increase

If a truly sensible form of government was ever needed, it is now. — Ed.

Yesterday’s vote by the House of Representatives was a vote to increase taxes on productive Americans, many of whom are small business owners.  By a vote of 234-188 the Democrat-controlled House passed legislation that extends the Bush tax cuts for lower and middle income Americans, while raising taxes on the evil rich – the producers.

This vote had one and only one purpose.  The Democrats know that this legislation goes no further than the House.  The Senate simply will not pass it.  So why bother?  The purpose of the vote was not to extend the current tax rates for the middle class – it was to promote and reinforce class warfare in the United States.  Democrat are the beneficiaries of this class warfare … and after they got clobbered in the election last month they need to shore up their main defenses.  Perhaps all the Democrat-Socialist party thinks that it has going for itself right now is the envy that those of average means have for those who have achieved more than they.

Certainly there is plenty of wealth envy left out there … but I’m thinking that maybe more Americans are getting the message:  It just doesn’t make sense to raise taxes on the very people we are looking to for new private sector jobs while we’re trying to boost employment and fuel an economic recovery.  Democrats have done everything in their power to combat this idea that these tax increases will affect the jobs creators, but they get hammered back at every attempt.  The Democrats announce that the tax increases will only affect about five percent of all small businesses … then some hate-filled radio talk show host reveals that while this may be so, this five percent of small businesses who will be hit are the small businesses that bring in over fifty percent of small business income and provide nearly fifty percent of private sector jobs.  Then the Democrats say that if the evil, disgusting rich people are allowed to keep this money they’re only going to invest it, they won’t spend it.  Then Charles Payne on Fox News Channel asks just where these evil people will invest that extra money.  In businesses, that’s where!  The money will be invested in businesses that will then use that money to grow and produce new jobs.   The Democrats hatred of talk radio and Fox News is real and not difficult to understand.  When some media figures constantly – on a day-to-day basis – expose Democrat arguments and talking points as illogical — and frankly dishonest — you can’t blame them for wanting to strike these people down.  Trust me … they’re working on that right now.

But this folks, is why you voted these people out of office .. because they just don’t get it.  As Nancy Pelosi gaveled the vote to a close, Democrats on the floor applauded.  Applauded.  We should get some audio of that applause, and play it as a reminder that THIS is what Democrats are happy about – a tax increase.  The Democrats truly believe that they are doing exactly what the American people want and exactly what will keep them in power.  But I wonder how many of those American people will realize that when their employer has to cut jobs, or can’t hire new workers, or can’t invest in new equipment or can’t give you a raise .. they have nobody but the DEMOCRATS to thank.  And technically, three Republican Congressmen as well —  Walter Jones (N.C.), Ron Paul (Texas) and John Duncan (Tenn.) – who voted for the bill.  Twenty Democrats actually broke rank and voted against the bill.  Most of these were Blue Dog Democrats, about half of which lost their reelection bid and will not return in January.

Calming down now … the bill is now sent to the Senate where we are told there is no chance that it will pass.  That doesn’t excuse the House Democrats for their class warfare ploy.  Why is it that Democrats are so enamored with “fairness” but only as it applies to the moocher class?  I’ll tell you why.  It is for one reason and one reason only: power.  They know that playing the class warfare card will keep the moochers coming to the polls, continuously voting for the looters with the power to take money out of other people’s pockets and give it to them.  It’s just absurd.
