Paul Bridges: Onion Emperor of Georgia

The system is rotten to the core.

I didn’t watch that video of Mayor Paul Bridges of Uvalda, GA, who is standing shoulder to shoulder with the ACLU and Mexico to sue his own state, until this evening.

Needless to say, I am familiar with this type of so-called “conservative,” who often makes common cause with those types of “progressives”: in April, I wrote two articles about Sen. JD Alexander of Florida, the Blueberry Emperor of the Sunshine State, and the whole Blueberry Welfare economy that succeeded in strangling conservative efforts to reform our broken immigration system in Tallahassee this year.

The same problem exists across the South and throughout America. This includes Georgia and Alabama where immigration patriots were successful in passing new restrictionist immigration laws.

From the earliest colonial days, this unquenchable thirst among greedy white plantation owners like Paul Bridges for a reliable source of “cheap labor” (in reality, it is only “cheap” because all the costs are absorbed by the public and offloaded onto future generations) has been the single biggest plague on our civilization in our entire history.

Just watch that video: watch this video and tell me with a straight face that Paul Bridges isn’t the voice of the modern slavocracy in Georgia.

Bridges manages to flawlessly hit every single note in the pro-slavery gospel: the fake Christian argument, the fake humanitarian argument, the fake economic argument, the fake anti-racist argument, the fake individual rights argument, etc.

When you tear the mask away, the ugly truth is revealed, a whole class of men who don’t even deny they shamelessly exploit the weakest, poorest people in our society (in the name of Christianity, individual liberty, the public good, the American way, etc.) who have no rights and who work backbreaking hours in the Georgia sun for sick white parasites like Paul Bridges can own thousands of acres, live on a golf course, and park a big bass boat in the front yard.

“Families must not be separated.” “We are a mixed people,” complete and total BS, every word of it.

What this is really all about, as Bridges himself admits to on camera, is having a permanent Hispanic underclass here without rights, who work on the weekends, who work in the afternoon and evenings, who don’t have sick time, who don’t have vacation time, who work 75 to 80 hours a week for $7.25 an hour.

Paul Bridges is the voice of The Slave Power.

In the nineteenth century, Paul Bridges’ ancestors made every single one of these disingenuous, self serving arguments: only black people were physically suited to pick the cotton, only black people could work in such harsh conditions, without slavery the Southern economy would collapse, slavery was justified because black people were brought into the faith, Jesus and St. Paul approved of slavery, we couldn’t abolish slavery without breaking up families, abolitionists were motivated by racism, everyone was a big old happy family on master’s plantation, slavery delivered black people from barbarism in Africa, etc.

We have heard this all before.

More people suffered and died in the American South because of people like Paul Bridges than from any other single cause in American history. Go to Andersonville and take a look around.

It is fitting that Paul Bridges and Georgia’s planter class is allied with none other than the Southern Poverty Law Center, a hedge fund that masquerades as a “civil rights organization,” which pays Richard Cohen and Morris Dees nearly 350K a year to “fight hate” in America.

Dees started off as a direct mail marketing executive before moving into the more lucrative hate industry. Self interest explains their alliance.

1.) The SPLC gets more illegal aliens in America, which means more resentment by the pissed off natives who pay for the public services they consume, which means more financial opportunities to profit from “fighting hate” in its perennial fundraising campaigns.

2.) Paul Bridges and the Georgia slavocracy get their peon agricultural underclass to exploit in the onion fields.

3.) Illegal aliens get the chance to make more money for their poor families in Mexico. Of all the parties involved here, illegals are probably the least to blame.

4.) Mexico and other Latin American countries depend upon remittances as a crucial source of foreign currency.

5.) The ACLU gets more illegal aliens in America, which means more desperate attempts to close the border by natives, which means more lawsuits in federal court for despicable trial lawyers.

6.) The permanently aggrieved minority groups want to add to their political clout to engage in more race based “civil rights” shakedowns (like the Pigford reparations scam) of the federal government and corporations.

7.) The Chamber of Commerce gets the irresistable, sugar coated injection of state and federal welfare spending on illegal aliens into the local economy, who buy groceries at Wal-Mart with foodstamp debit cards.

8.) Corrupt Democrats see another “bloc vote” that can be exploited to win public offices for themselves, which can be used to rob the public treasury and distribute the loot to their supporters.

9.) And finally, sanctimonious liberals like MSNBC star Chris Matthews get to talk down to the folks about “racism” and “bigotry” and trumpet their own moral superiority and commitment to “diversity” and “American exceptionalism” on television … before driving back home to Chevy Chase, Maryland.

That is how the system works. It is why the same coalition of interest groups support illegal immigration and oppose all real efforts to secure the border.

The losers in this rotten deal are taxpayers and citizens who end up getting stuck with the bill. Someone has to pay for the hospitals, the roads, the food, the public schools, the welfare and everything else that makes the present system possible.

I will tell you what: if Paul Bridges and these other “farmers” had to assume all the costs of illegal immigration, especially the costs of healthcare and food and education and crime and welfare, and factored all that into what they paid their “workforce,” then they would quickly discover that illegal aliens aren’t so great after all.

The only reason an economic incentive for illegal immigration exists here is because the costs are socialized and the benefits are privatized. Thankfully, we have the SPLC around to ensure there are more trial lawyers, oligarchs, poverty, racism, and welfare spending in America than there otherwise would be.

What would we ever do without them?

Here’s a thought: Paul Bridges, Heidi Beirich, Chris Matthews and Morris Dees should pick the vidalia onions and JD Alexander should pick the blueberries. They ought to switch places.

Jose gets the big bass boat. Pedro gets the farm. Jorge gets Chris Matthews’ house in Chevy Chase. They call the police to have the illegals removed from their private property, and the police respond by saying that borders are a thing of the past, and that illegal immigration can’t be stopped, and that the illegal aliens are engaged in a “civil rights demonstration” and have been given “a pathway to legal status.”

We get to sit back and watch and laugh. That is so funny it really ought to happen.
