Joe Turner, White Separatist, Hired By San Bernadino County Supervisor

Much to the dismay of the usual suspects, of course.

Joseph Turner (pictured right), an admitted separatist has been hired by San Bernardino’s newestCounty Supervisor Neil Derry who defended his selection of Turner because hedidn’t agree with the charges that he was a racist. Turner is described by theSouthern Poverty Law Center, who has been following his actions since 2004-2005,as protesting against day labor centers with neo-Nazi groups.

Turner says he can’t help who joins his Save our State (SOS)protests and the internet is crawling with photos of hate groups workingtogether. He has been photographedalongside known skinheads. His targethas been illegal immigrants but he has been quoted as saying, “I am sick andtired of multiculturalism, meaning let’s celebrate every culture as long as itisn’t a European/White culture.” He also has been quoted as saying just becauseone believes in White separatism that does not make him a racist.”
On July 16, 2005, the Law Centerreported (Whined, actually. –Ed.) that Turner wrote, “I am sick and tired of all the White bashing thatgoes on through the use of political correctness as an indoctrinating tool.”

Turnerdenies being a racist and Derry and 1stDistrict Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt said at the board meeting they don’tbelieve he is racist. “I don’t know him(Turner),” said former Supervisor Dennis Hansberger, “but it seems to be a bitof an odd appointment.” “Derry was polarizingas a Councilman and continues as a Supervisor,” said one observer. Derry, whoseChief of Staff, Jim Erwin, was arrested on 10 felony counts for not claiming priceygifts by the owner of the Colonies Development Company who received a $102million settlement from the county.

Derry, who at first stoodby Erwin on Tuesday, accepted his resignation on the same day that he hiredTurner.

“I think he is hiring someone who doesn’t have a goodreputation. To be on the staff of a Supervisor is bad judgement on his (Derry’s) part. Hecertainly has some outrageous views. I live in Derry’sDistrict and I don’t agree with his views about immigration and I don’t knowhow anybody could agree with it,” said Rabbi Hillel Cohn.

Turner will be paid by taxpayers nearly $55,000 a year to write press releases and opinion piecesfor local newspapers. “We didn’t do opinion pieces when I was with the County,”stated Hansberger.

“We did our own press releases but didn’t have a personwhose job it was to get out information to the press. We have a County PublicInformation Officer, David Wert but many offices in the county have pressstaff,” he continued. Quoted in the SunNewspaper Derry said, “he’s only polarizing because some people don’t like his positionon illegal immigration, which most of my constituents agree with,” said Derry. Derry insists that Turner is a very good writer.
