Group Opposing Affirmative Action Raises Serious Cash

A good step toward the concept of true diversity of ability

The group trying to end affirmative action inNebraska has raised nearly twice as much money as the group trying tokeep it. The Nebraska Civil Rights Initiative is pushing for the ban.

So far, it has raised nearly $645,000.

Nebraskan’s United, the group opposing the ban has raised just more than $390,000. The numbers are from the State Accountability and Disclosure Commission.

The affirmative action issue will be on the November Ballot. It would bar the state from considering race or gender in any decisions including college admissions.

Similar measures have been passed in California, Michigan and Washington.Source
