Wisconsin: Commission to ‘Equalize’ Criminals

Equal justice task force set

Madison Police Chief Noble Wray will co-chair a new task force charged with examining discrimination in the state’s criminal justice system.

Gov. Jim Doyle formally created the Commission on Reducing Racial Disparity in Wisconsin’s Criminal Justice System by executive order this morning and announced the panel’s makeup in a news release.

Also named to the 24-member commission are Madison attorneys Victor Arellano and Stan Davis, Dane County District Attorney Brian Blanchard and Pam Oliver, University of Wisconsin-Madison sociology professor.http://www.madison.com/tct/news/stories/index.php?ntid=125432&ntpid=2
