    News; Posted on: 2007-06-16 18:00:14 [ Printer friendly / Instant flyer ]

(KSDK) - Alton police on Friday announced three arrests in connection with a random shooting that left one teenager dead and another wounded.

Scott Garner (pictured), 17, was shot while he was across the street from a home in the 2500 block of Salu Street. A coroner said Garner was shot in the chest and left thigh. He died at an Alton hospital just hours later.

Reginald Stegall, 19, Bradley Everage and Nathanial Fleming, both 18, all of Alton, were each charged with one count of first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.*

*UPDATE: The three defendants had previously harassed Scott and made threats against him. They appear to have been laying in wait for him to come out of his house, the day he was shot. Race appears to be the primary motivation for killing Scott Garner
