Hate Bills Top Democrat Agenda
By Rev. Ted Pike
ENDA, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, passed the House last year, and Sen. Edward Kennedy is now hyping efforts to pass it in the Senate. ENDA is now on the Senate docket, and a vote could be taken any time Majority Leader Reid decides.
ENDA is a federal workplace "hate crimes" bill which would give "most favored" status to homosexuals in hiring and firing, rentals, etc. It would deprive Christian employers and employees of freedom to witness to or reprove homosexuals in the workplace. Employers could not refuse to hire, or be able to fire, a homosexual because of his sexual orientation.
Right now in the Brett Van Asdlen "hate crime" case in Illinois, we are seeing the injustice and legal complications of giving specially protected status to homosexuals. If two straight youths have a scuffle, it is a misdemeanor. If a homosexual scuffles with a Christian teen like Brett Van Asdlen, the homosexual can shout, "Hate crime!" and the Christian youth could face three years in prison under a felony conviction.
ENDA will vastly increase homosexual privileges, stripping employers, employees, and property owners of fundamental rights. It will exponentially increase the power of homosexuals to sue or claim victimization.
Take Action!
Protest NOW to your Senators. Ask them to oppose ENDA. Send an email or call toll free 1-877-851-6437 or toll 1-202-225-3121.
