Strengthening Marriage Through Divorce and Custody Reform
    Issues; Posted on: 2012-10-10 22:14:53 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
    by Stephen Baskerville

As the battle over same-sex marriage heats up, we may wish to consider other ways to defend and strengthen marriage as an institution. Any comprehensive strategy for restoring marriage must address its nemesis: divorce. Of all the threats to marriage and the family today, divorce is clearly the most direct. Yet it is also the least understood and most neglected.

Confronting divorce can strengthen the campaign for marriage by restoring a more constructive and proactive balance to issues where traditional marriage advocates are made to appear “intolerant.” Michael McManus writes that “divorce is a far more grievous blow to marriage than today’s challenge by gays.”[1] The present failure of family advocates to address divorce is becoming conspicuous and threatens to undermine their moral authority elsewhere. “People who won’t censure divorce carry no special weight as defenders of marriage,” writes columnist Froma Harrop.[2]

This failure stems in part from the view that divorce is a private matter in the lives of individuals, not something of political significance or connected with public policy. The divorce epidemic is usually depicted as a cultural spin-off of the 1960’s sexual revolution, where loosening moral standards led to the breakdown of the family and unleashed a plethora of social ills connected with fatherless children. Consequently, the remedy is seen as marriage therapy, and the role of public policy is limited to funding the therapy. The most prominent response today, the Bush administration’s $1.5 billion plan to promote marriage through counseling, ignores divorce and the laws which facilitate it.

In fact, the divorce revolution has always been driven by politics. Without addressing the political dynamic, measures to bring divorce under control — and by extension, efforts to strengthen marriage generally — are likely to have limited efficacy.

“No-fault” divorce laws were introduced in the United States and other industrialized countries during the 1970s and are being expanded today into other regions of the world. The campaign was based on misleading information from the start. Laws advertised as allowing couples to divorce without legal grounds by mutual consent actually created involuntary or unilateral divorce, permitting one spouse to dissolve a marriage for any reason or no reason without incurring any liability for the consequences. “In all other areas of contract law, those who break a contract are expected to compensate their partner or partners,” writes Robert Whelan, “but under a system of ‘no- fault’ divorce, this essential element of contract law is abrogated. Divorce comes to be regarded as one of those things that just happens.”[3]

In fact, the legal implications go further, since the courts do not remain neutral, but invariably side with the violator of the agreement to punish the faithful spouse. Attorney Steven Varnis points out that “the law generally supports the spouse seeking the divorce, even if that spouse was the wrongdoer, by granting divorces with little regard for a spouse who may not desire it.”[4]

28 Good Questions That The Mainstream Media Should Be Asking
    Issues; Posted on: 2012-10-10 20:28:47 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
Society cannot be ignorant to this somewhat obvious fact, because whether we realize it or not, how the media portrays the world is inevitably for their own benefit - for the generation of profit through consumption. While the news media has a serious obligation to report facts, it also has its own interests at its core. Needless to say, they are not charities.

Why is there so little trust in the mainstream media these days?  CNN ratings have been hovering close to record lows over the past few months.  A recent Gallup survey found that 60 percent of all Americans "have little or no trust" in the mainstream media.  That was a record high according to Gallup.  So why is this happening?  Sadly, the truth is that the mainstream media quit telling the truth a long time ago.  The mainstream media has an agenda, and more Americans than ever are beginning to recognize this.  Once upon a time, control of the news in the United States was at least somewhat decentralized.  But now there are just six giant media corporations that control almost everything that we see, hear and watch.

    Population Age Structure and Fertility
    Issues; Posted on: 2012-07-02 16:32:00 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
    by Andrew Hamilton

The white racial predicament, now so extreme—fundamentally, looming extinction or genocide—can be studied from countless angles. The issue is so multifaceted that it is easiest to break the main problem into smaller, discrete components, holding fixed and temporarily ignoring numerous crucial elements that in real life cannot be readily ignored.

One facet of the overriding problem is sub-replacement fertility: the failure of whites worldwide to replace their population by having at least 2.1 children per couple.

The result is a white population declining both in absolute numbers and relative to other races, many of which are growing in size. This is happening at ferocious speed, far more rapidly than most white nationalists grasp.

Note also that the offspring of the many whites who now intermarry, or reproduce interracially outside of marriage, do not augment the white birthrate, but detract from it; such children are non-white. And this is not a marginal problem.

Under present conditions, such hybrids must be uncompromisingly deflected away from the white population and gene pool. Hybrid individuals are unacceptable as group members.

At the most fundamental level, white racialism is a straightforward exercise in conservation biology. Whites, or a remnant of them, must physically survive as a racially-conscious, culturally coherent breeding population or group of genetically similar breeding populations.

    America's Bread and Circuses

Those who work hard all week long and just need some rest and relaxation, escape from their daily grind for awhile. They likely believe that they are too tired to really think about how their country should be run.

It is not unusual for Americans to hear the talking heads on television or on the radio comparing contemporary America to the Roman Empire. It is somewhat ironic that Volume I of Edward Gibbons' landmark book, The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, was published in 1776, the same year that Thomas Jefferson wrote The Declaration of Independence, and America, as a nation, was first conceived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At the same time that this new nation -- a beacon shining on a hill -- was coming of age, Gibbons was analyzing how Rome -- the largest empire of the Classical era -- collapsed. I imagine that America's talking heads have been doing to America what Gibbons did to Rome since our nation's inception.

    Nagging Can Cause Divorce
    Issues; Posted on: 2012-01-30 05:32:49 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
    by Quinton Stacey

"Nagging is the enemy of love, if allowed to persist."

At first impression, one would think that the leading cause of divorce would either be economics or infidelity. But first impressions are often incorrect, and while economics and infidelity are among the leading causes of divorce, the honor of one of the top causes goes to the ancient art of nagging.

A recent Wall Street Journal article revealed that though the risk of divorce from nagging is about the same as that for adultery, that nagging is much more common.

Though nagging is more often associated with wives than husbands, and in fact wives are far more likely to nag, it is important to understand that the nagging is part of a dynamic to which both partners can contribute, and a cycle both partners can take steps to end.

Dr. Howard Markman, co-Director of the Center for Marital and Family Studies published a study on the phenomenon in 2010, and noted that: "Nagging is the enemy of love, if allowed to persist." Clearly, it is in the best interests of our people to get a handle on this marriage-killer.

    Diagramming a White America
    Issues; Posted on: 2011-10-02 06:33:57 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
We can easily extrapolate from EAU’s basic positions and moderate tone what a nation under the authority of a white advocacy government might actually look like.

    by EAU, BoD

Clearly, ending the integration and destruction of the founding race would have to be a top priority since our declining numbers are now a matter of public record. Following an undetermined period of cultural change implemented by an influential minority of race-conscious advocates; corruption of established law by those whose aims deviate from that law would result in public abhorrence and subsequent degradation to the offender.

Except for the discovery of an imminent threat to our safety as a people, invading a sovereign nation would be a last resort. Foreign wars would be pointless since a white nationalist government’s primary concern would be domestic in nature.

Decline of US naval power - America's rush to oblivion.
    Issues; Posted on: 2011-03-08 12:01:38 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
According to the Wall Street Journal:

“…60 ships were commonly underway in America’s seaward approaches in 1998, but today—despite opportunities for the infiltration of terrorists, the potential of weapons of mass destruction, and the ability of rogue nations to sea-launch intermediate and short-range ballistic missiles—there are only 20… As China’s navy rises and ours declines, not that far in the future the trajectories will cross.”

A Psychiatrist's Advice for President Obama
    Issues; Posted on: 2011-01-29 04:55:31 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
How did a man who apologized for our nation’s shortcomings on trips abroad and who attended a church run by a man who said, “God damn America!” come to believe that we are a people that should embrace the core ideas of our Founding Fathers?

President Obama’s State of the Union speech on Tuesday night symbolically kicked off the 2012 Presidential campaign. I tuned in with what psychiatrists call a “third ear”—listening to myself listening, polling my gut for when it alerted me to true or false notes. In my office, it is this “third ear” that allows me to ask questions that get past a person’s more superficial stories, to the heart of that person. In other words, I was paying as much attention to whether I sensed the President believed what he was saying, as to whether I agreed with what he was saying.

I loathe lip service. I am more than two decades into a career based on detecting it and opposing it. Much of what I can offer patients is help finding the courage and faith to stop running from who they really are and what they really believe—to say what they mean and mean what they say. Authenticity is quite literally part of the cure for depression and anxiety, because self-deception and the manipulation of others are so dispiriting.

NY Republican Gov. Candidate Paladino Hits Homosexuality
    Issues; Posted on: 2010-10-10 21:22:32 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
Harsh rebuke from the gay community.

A Republican gubernatorial hopeful in New York told a meeting of Orthodox Jewish leaders on Sunday that children should not be "brainwashed" into believing homosexuality is an acceptable way to live.

The remarks came as Tea Party-backed Carl Paladino discussed why he is opposed to gay marriage. "I just think my children and your children would be much better off and much more successful getting married and raising a family, and I don't want them brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option -- it isn't," he said, reading from a prepared speech, according to The New York Times.

What the NAACP/Tea Party Battle Is Really About
    Issues; Posted on: 2010-07-22 15:26:55 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
In a nutshell, the very existence of the Tea Party is a message to the NAACP: Stop.

The recent dust-up between the NAACP and the Tea Partiers over charges of "racism" appears to be yet one more instance of blacks accusing whites of insensitivity, real or imagined. In reality, however, these exchanges reflect far deeper animosities that will not vanish with "clarifications" or expelling "racist" Tea Partiers.

The NAACP and its numerous allies have for decades led the charge to expand government power, including intruding into areas once considered absolutely off-limits to local government, let alone Washington. Tea Partiers are not libertarians, but they've had enough with government power run amok. This disagreement is, to use Thomas Sowell's words, an unbridgeable conflict of visions: the Tea Party's agenda, even stripped of any racial component, contravenes the NAACP's raison d'être, so when the NAACP complains about insensitivities, it is just saying, "You intend to destroy us."

Why Your Childs Teacher Stinks, and What You Can Do About It
    Issues; Posted on: 2010-06-15 17:24:23 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
The time has come to strip your state’s education budget of everything that does not directly relate to true education.

There are certain professions that carry an implicit mandate, one that goes beyond performing the required duties of that profession.  A social contract exists in these specialized lines of works that requires the performer to place the needs to those he serves above his own.  Police officers, soldiers, and firemen are three such professions.  There is a fourth, but this profession’s mandate has been corrupted by union greed and politics.

I speak of the Teacher, especially the teacher of the American high school and university.

The mandate of the Teacher is simple:  to educate.  The simplest, purest form of the Teacher can be found in my book Teacher of the Year: The Mystery and Legacy of Edwin Barlow. For 35 years, Edwin Barlow taught mathematics at his beloved Horace Greeley High School in New York. Thousands of students passed through his classroom. Yet when he died, he remained as much a cipher as the day he arrived, for he deliberately shrouded his life in rumor and mystery.

Disinformation Tactics: The Methods Used To Keep You In The Dark
    Issues; Posted on: 2010-04-14 18:21:18 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
The best way to disarm disinformation agents is to know their methods inside and out.

There was a time, not too long ago (relatively speaking), that governments and the groups of elites that controlled them did not find it necessary to conscript themselves into wars of disinformation. Propaganda was relatively straightforward. The lies were much simpler. The control of information flow was easily directed. In fact, during the early Middle-Ages in most European countries commoners were not even allowed to own a Bible, nor was the Bible allowed to be interpreted from Latin to another language, let alone any other tome that might breed “dangerous ideas”.

This was due in large part to the established feudal system and its hierarchy of royals and clergy. Rules were enforced with the threat of property confiscation and execution for anyone who strayed from the rigid socio-political structure. Those who had theological, metaphysical, or scientific information outside of the conventional and scripted collective world view were tortured and slaughtered. The elites kept the information to themselves, and removed its remnants from mainstream recognition, sometimes for centuries before it was rediscovered.

Why Americans Will Believe Almost Anything
    Issues; Posted on: 2009-11-20 20:58:31 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
The minute that decision is made - what spin to put on a story - we have left the world of reporting and entered the world of propaganda.
We are the most conditioned, programmed beings the world has ever known. Not only are our thoughts and attitudes continually being shaped and molded; our very awareness of the whole design seems like it is being subtly and inexorably erased. The doors of our perception are carefully and precisely regulated. Who cares, right?

It is an exhausting and endless task to keep explaining to people how most issues of conventional wisdom are scientifically implanted in the public consciousness by a thousand media clips per day. In an effort to save time, I would like to provide just a little background on the handling of information in this country. Once the basic principles are illustrated about how our current system of media control arose historically, the reader might be more apt to question any given story in today's news.

If everybody believes something, it's probably wrong. We call that CONVENTIONAL WISDOM.

    African Boarding School?
    Issues; Posted on: 2009-11-19 18:58:30 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
Some Indiana University professors have proposed a novel way to give struggling inner-city students a fresh start: send them to boarding school in Africa.

The project is still in its planning phase, and its backers admit it faces legal and financial hurdles. But the professors want to establish a school in the West African nation of Ghana where Indiana teachers would instruct some of the state's poorest children.

"The core idea is to pull kids out of an environment where they cannot thrive and put them in one where they can," said law professor Kevin Brown, who leads the group behind the idea.

Backers would have to raise $4 million in donations to build the school, but the $10,000 or so the state pays urban districts for a student's education each year would cover the classes, room, board and travel, said Brown, who teaches at the university's Bloomington campus.

Issues such as student safety and legal liability must be still be addressed. But a similar project launched in the 1990s by the Abell Foundation and the Baltimore public school system in Kenya operated for seven years until being shut down amid fears of terrorist attacks on Americans after 9/11.

The Decline of the English Department
    Issues; Posted on: 2009-09-26 04:47:37 [ Print / Instant Flyer |
How it happened and what could be done to reverse it.

In one generation ... the numbers of those majoring in the humanities dropped from a total of 30 percent to a total of less than 16 percent; during that same generation, business majors climbed from 14 percent to 22 percent. Despite last year’s debacle on Wall Street, the humanities have not benefited; students are still wagering that business jobs will be there when the economy recovers.

What are the causes for this decline? There are several, but at the root is the failure of departments of English across the country to champion, with passion, the books they teach and to make a strong case to undergraduates that the knowledge of those books and the tradition in which they exist is a human good in and of itself. What departments have done instead is dismember the curriculum, drift away from the notion that historical chronology is important, and substitute for the books themselves a scattered array of secondary considerations (identity studies, abstruse theory, sexuality, film and popular culture). In so doing, they have distanced themselves from the young people interested in good books.
