As Poles, Hungarians, and old stock Dutchmen find that their interests are not those of blacks, Hispanics, or Filipinos, it will become increasingly clear that the culture uniting European-Americans cannot easily be separated from race.

In an era in which the ethnic demands of everyone but white people are the subject of such obligatory interest, it is a pleasant surprise to find a book about the ethnic identities of Americans of European descent. And if, as the flyleaf claims, the author goes on to explore the dawning consciousness of whites as “European-Americans,” the book would seem promising. Ethnic Identity is, in fact, a useful analysis of what white Americans think about their European origins, and the book is worth reading for that. As a reflection on rising white consciousness, it is no more than one would expect from a mainstream university press.

This is a warning we need to heed.

Friday in Paris. A hidden camera shows streets blocked by huge crowds of Muslim worshippers and enforced by a private security force.

This is all illegal in France: the public worship, the blocked streets, and the private security. But the police have been ordered not to intervene.

It shows that even though some in the French government want to get tough with Muslims and ban the burqa, other parts of the French government continue to give Islam a privileged status.

“Now the U.S. State Department is asking the (U.N.) council to review possible human rights violations that supposedly could occur under Arizona’s new law against illegal immigration.”

Surely this is impeachable.  President Obama is required to uphold the law, yet he refuses to do so, and asks an outside authority to intervene by giving them the opportunity to criticize Arizona’s efforts to protect itself from the consequences of his dereliction of duty.

Put another way, the Obama administration not only refuses to enforce federal legislation, it then files lawsuits challenging any State’s right to enforce the legislation, thus effectively annulling it.

On 17 July, the Guardian newspaper published a 12 page graphic comic entitled “The Unwanted,” written by Joe Sacco, a Maltese citizen who presently lives in Oregon. “The Unwanted,” which can be read here, purports to describe the cultural, political and logistical problems being caused in Malta by large-scale illegal immigration from Africa.

Sacco’s parents were socialists, and emigrated to Australia in the 1960s to escape the influence of the Catholic church -- a hugely powerful institution in Malta, where abortion and divorce are still illegal. The parental antinomianism appears to have rubbed off on their son, because his views tend towards the conventionally leftwing, with other graphic offerings to his name about the travails of Bosnia and Gaza.

In East and West, Rene Guenon makes this fundamental claim:

"So long as western people imagine that there only exists a single type of humanity, that there is only one ‘civilization’, at different stages of development, no mutual understanding will be possible. The truth is that there are many civilizations, developing along very different lines, and that, among these, that of the modern West is strangely exceptional, as some of its characteristics show.

Political correctness has made it so that one cannot ask tough questions about racially selective news “reporting” or trends in criminal violence without being cast off as a bigot.

New York City’s Staten Island borough is being plagued by a recent succession of hate crimes. National Public Radio reported Aug. 20 of “at least 10 alleged hate crimes in the borough’s Port Richmond area since April — all violent, and all perpetrated against Mexicans.”

It wasn’t until a few days ago when I proactively searched for “recent hate crimes” in Google News that I came across this story. It wasn’t the lead feature on CNN. It never headlined the Drudge Report. Like me, many of you probably hadn’t heard about these unfortunate incidences of violence until now.

Why? Could it be because, as the Los Angeles Times revealed last week, 10 of the 11 assaults “involved blacks attacking Mexicans”?

Beck’s rally was a vague, confused jumble of meaninglessness. Or, if you prefer, a hot ghetto mess.

Glenn Beck’s big rally at the Lincoln Memorial a couple days ago is the talk of the news media and the internet. Liberals are denouncing it, conservatives are walking on air, while tens of millions of people are completely mystified. And with good reason – if Seinfeld was a show about nothing, this massive gathering was a rally about nothing. And while it may have looked impressive, in reality it shows just how impotent and adrift the mainstream conservative movement has become.

Nobody is really sure what it was even about. Beck, who is only famous because he has spent hours a day for the last decade ranting about politics, says it had nothing to do with politics, even though Sarah Palin was the keynote speaker.

It was about “restoring honor” or something, whatever that’s supposed to mean. Or it was a way of supporting the troops, depending on which day you listened to Beck.

And here in the US we are paying for extremist imams (like Rauf) and their wives to go on Middle Eastern junkets to raise money for Islamic supremacist Ground Zero mosques. Sick.

What are we to make, then, of a profession that rewards workers with fame and fortune, yet discriminates ruthlessly against women; an institution where Hispanics and Asians, 20 percent of the U.S. population, are neither sought after nor widely seen.

In this profession, white males, a third of the population, retain a third of the jobs. But black males, 6.5 percent of the U.S. population, have 67 percent of the coveted positions — 10 times their fair share.
